When someone says you can't hate something

Specifically when someone who likes a particular show you don't like, and they try to shove the point "you can't hate this because you're not of the age group" down your throat. Not to mention, it's okay for you (someone who is around my age) to like something, but I can't dislike it for some reason. And no, it does not matter what that "something" is, whether it'd be TV shows, movies, sports, etc. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. So whenever someone brings that bullshit up to you, remember this.
